Chef NIlyuk "Kaz" Kim
The master sushi chef at Sally's Seafood on the Water has been slicing and dicing around the crowds for over two decades. Ilyuk "Kaz" Kim combines the beauty of culinary art with a burst of flavors to create spectacular dishes at Sally's.
Kaz began his debut as sushi chef for Kamekyo Japanese Restaurant in San Francisco. Shortly thereafter in 1996, Kaz moved to Berkeley to work as sushi chef at Sushiko Japanese Restaurant.
Following his stint at Sushiko, Kaz became Sous Sushi Chef at Kohime Japanese-California Cuisine in San Francisco. With a great heap of knowledge, Kaz took off for the Grand Cayman Islands. It was there where he served the harsh toll of living his love of being a Sous Sushi Chef at Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman. After seven years working in the idyllic weather conditions and scenery of the Islands, Kaz joined the fun at Sally's Seafood on the Water in San Diego.
